#1 The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The meeting was called to order by Chair Gerald Luke at 6:01 PM. Chair Gerald Luke stated all Officers were present and verified the agenda was placed in 4 locations and on the website.





CLERK – Amy Slone stated there were no building permits issued. There had been a question received as to if the town requires a permit for renting out cabins. There will likely be a primary election in February for the Spring election for state superintendent of schools. For the town election to be held April 4, 2017 the clerk has received candidate papers for Amy Slone, Clerk, Jerry Murrin, Treasurer, Gerald Luke, Chair, Gerald Mikula, Supervisor. No other candidates have submitted papers.


TREASURER - Jerry Murrin presented the monthly financial report.


CHAIRPERSON – Gerald Luke provided information on Chair's activities and correspondence. Water fountain and women’s washroom sink were repaired. Carpet in the town hall entryway has been installed. Chair stated he has received complaints of problems about the rescue squad not taking a patient to preferred hospital. Chair suggests possibly having a meeting with representatives from EMS. Good response for advertised highway position. Response from town attorney regarding town road speed limits: it is OK to post 35 mph signs. A notice was received from the department of transportation that we will receive $98,253.24 in road aids this year.


SUPERVISOR LEPPER – Supervisor Lepper stated Brian Pitlick called him with estimates and recommendations for Flowage Road.


SUPERVISOR MIKULA - Supervisor Mikula stated he heard at the last county recycling meeting there was no funding left at end of year for clothing and safety equipment allowance. No meeting this month.


FIRE DEPARTMENT – Fire Chief stated to stay in compliance the department needs to replace turn-out gear every 10 years. Old gear will be shipped to Africa through an organization. This will free up storage space in the upstairs storage area of the fire hall.


FIRST RESPONDERS – No report; not present.

IRON COUNTY SUPERVISOR –No report; not present.

PLANNING COMMISSION – Peter Hatch reported there was no business.

SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER– No report; not present

ACOUSTIC REMEDY COMMITTEE -No report; not present


#4 Request for Specifications for Clark Lane from Brett Brockhop – DNR

Supervisor Lepper reported that he feels the specifications for the blacktop look well. Brett will need

the specifications for the double chip seal.


#5 Set Date to Interview Applicants for Hwy Dept. & Hire Same

The board set a tentative interview date for Saturday January 21, 2017 9AM-12PM. Clerk will contact the applicants to schedule.


#6 2017 WTA District Meeting, Friday 3 Feb 2017 in Minocqua

Supervisor Mikula made a motion to approve interested board member attendance at the WTA District meeting on 2/3/2017. Supervisor Lepper seconded, motion passed. Jerry Mikula and Chair Luke will attend. Clerk will register these two board members.


#7 Report of Final Disposition- Boot Lake Access – the “Strip of Land.”

Chair Luke provided information on this legal determination, which is now fully settled.


#8 Approval of Minutes/Payment of Vouchers

Supervisor Mikula made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Supervisor Lepper seconded, motion passed. Chair Luke read the vouchers. Supervisor Lepper made a motion to pay the vouchers as presented. Supervisor Mikula seconded, motion carried.


#9 PUBLIC COMMENT/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS – Future agenda items: Approval for new bar tender’s license, and for temporary extension of license onto shore for Springstead Lake Lodge for Braapfest, review of carpeting plans.


#10 Supervisor Mikula made a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Lepper seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:07 PM
