TOWN OF SHERMAN BOARD MEETING
June 20, 2017
Chair Luke called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.
Supervisor Gerry Mikula present, Supervisor Gary Kessler not present, Deputy Clerk, Tracy Murrin present, Treasurer Jerry Murrin present. Verified that the meeting notice was posted in all four locations.
Public Comment: A resident voiced a concern regarding what she described as a 200 year old birch tree that is located on the Flowage Road. Requested that it be spared being cut down or disturbed when roadwork is performed.
Budget Review: Treasurer, Jerry Murrin stated that adjustments would need to be made to the budget to allow extra funds needed for road construction/maintenance. He shared areas in which monies could be reallocated. Supervisor Mikula made a motion to move allocations from the excess forest crop aid and fuel budget surplus into the road construction/maintenance budget. Chair Luke seconded. Motion passed.
Review 5 year road plan: Current 5 year road plan is 2012-2017. Chair Luke made a motion to table this due to Supervisor Kessler being absent. Supervisor Mikula seconded. Motion passed.
Authorize Replacement of fuel pump meters: A quote was received from Ritchie for $1645. Treasurer Murrin stated that the town is tax exempt. So quote should reflect a total of $1360. Chair Luke made a motion to approve $1360. Supervisor Mikula seconded. Motion passed.
Appoint member of town board: Supervisor Mikula handed in his formal resignation due to relocation. Chair Luke made a motion that an ad should be placed in the Iron County Miner. Supervisor Mikula seconded. Motion passed.
Public comment: We need to ascertain when the contract is up for Waste Management so we can look into other options. Supervisor Kessler to verify cost of moving reclaimed blacktop.
Supervisor Mikula made a motion to adjourn. Chair Luke seconded. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 10:18 a.m.
