   Town of Sherman Plan Commission Meeting

September 5, 2017

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman, Peter Hatch.

Verification made that notices were posted in all locations and website.

All members were present: Peter Hatch, Tracy Murrin, Helen Van Prooyen, Tom Mowbray, and Nancy Osgood.

 

Approval of Minutes: Previous minutes were reviewed. Helen made a motion to approve. Nancy seconded. Motion passed.

 

Public Comment: Fire Chief Ron King stated that the fire department would like to place storage container on the Town Hall grounds. This will be included on the next Board Meeting agenda.

 

Application by Victoria Cowan: Reviewed the application to rezone the property

(Part of the E ½ of the NE ¼ of the NE1/4, Section 21, Township 41 North, Range 2 East, Town of Sherman) from an F-1 (Forestry) District to a RR-1 (Residential Recreation) District. Site address is Hay Creek Road. Tracy made a motion to make a recommendation to the board to approve the application. Nancy seconded. Motion passed.

 

Application by George & Donna Wienold: Reviewed the application to allow construction of a 32’ X 45’ accessory building located in Lot 1 of CSM 561, Section 21, Township 42 North, Range 3 East, Town of Sherman. (Site address is Peninsula Road) Peter contacted the adjourning neighbors regarding the application with objections to the construction voiced. Several residents were present at this meeting and shared comments and concerns with questions answered. There was a lengthy discussion of conditions needed in order to approve since the first motion to approve failed. Tracy made a motion to make a recommendation to the board to approve the application with the following conditions:

  1. Vegetative screening to be installed by the applicants as shown on Exhibit A (attached) and maintained at the expense of the subject property.

  2. Building footprint to be reduced to 29’ x 45’ to provide eaves with approximately 16’ of overhang.

  3. The side facing Peninsula Road shall include an overhead garage door with windows and decorative light fixtures on either side of the overhead door.

  4. No habitation of commercial use.

  5. Natural or neutral colors.

 

Tom seconded. Motion passed.

 

Public Comment: Verify that vegetative screening would be included on property of Bonnie Meier.

 

Tom made a motion to adjourn meeting. Nancy seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:25.
