The Town of Sherman Plan Commission was formed in 2002. Its initial purpose was to build upon the work of the Land Use Planning Committee and develop the Town’s first Comprehensive Plan. This was completed in 2005. The Comprehensive Plan was updated in 2023 and is available for review on the Town’s website under Government > Comprehensive Plan.
The main purpose of the Plan Commission today is to review and implement elements of the Comprehensive Plan, review conditional use permits for recommendations to the Town Board, participate in zoning and other land use planning issues that impact the Town. The Plan Commission generally meets on the first Tuesday of each month.
Members of the Plan Commission are appointed to a three-year term by the Town Chair subject to confirmation by the Town Board. Current members are:
